Obituary of Lillie Kathleen Smith

Palmer – Mrs. Kathleen Smith, 93, passed away, Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Valley View Assisted Living in Whitwell, Tennessee. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee  August 20, 1924 to Albert Sweeton and Alice Mae Sanders Sweeton who preceded her in death along with her husband, Richard Benson Smith; sisters, Betty Rogers and Rosa Nell Scissom; brothers, Nelson, Ed and Delbert Sweeton; 2 infant siblings.

She was a member of the Palmer Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Wilma (Don) Adkins, Jasper, TN and Cheryl (Danny) Moore, Red Bank, TN; sons, Glenn "Pete" (Margaret) Smith, Hixson and Jeff (Laura) Smith, Soddy-Daisy, TN; brothers, Wayne (Bobbie) Sweeton, Whitwell and Alton Sweeton, Mount Juliet, TN and Dayne Sweeton, Cartwright, TN; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Lori, Don Jr., Melissa, Zach, Danielle, Hannah, Summer and Rachel; 10 great grandchildren, Abigail, Luke, Ava, Audrey, Grant, Sydney, Alex, Griffin, Noah and Everly; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ben Curtis officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
