Obituary of Mamie Ione Barrett

Altamont – Mrs. Mamie Ione Barrett, 90, passed away Friday December 29, 2017 at the NHC Nursing Home in McMinnville, Tennessee. She was born in Elora, Tennessee on April 1, 1927 to Eugene and Lois Dendy Hampton who preceded her in death along with her husband, James T. Barrett; brothers, L.D., H.L., J.C., Billy Charles and Otis Hampton.

She was a member of the Airview Baptist Church and had worked at the B&P Lamp Company in McMinnville.

She is survived by her sons, Randall (Patricia Fay), Edwin (Janice) and Gerald (Jana) Barrett; brothers, James (Donna) Hampton; sisters, Katherine (Bobby) Hobbs, Ola Jo Barrett and Betty Meeks; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Dal Barrett and Mack Hampton officiating with burial to follow in the Airview Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
