Obituary of John Wilson Scruggs

Gruetli-Laager – Mr. John Wilson Scruggs, 87, passed away Thursday February 8, 2018 at the Winchester Hospital.  He was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on March 18, 1930 to Jim and Lola Sanders Scruggs who preceded him in death along with his wife, Willie Mae Argo Scruggs; sisters, Minnie Lee King and Rosa Nell Hammers; brothers, Frank, Perchel and James Scruggs.

He worked in the Timber and Sawmill business most of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Tanner; sons, Johnny (Nancy), James (Elfa), Jeff (Avis), Jimmy (Kristie) and Mike (April) Scruggs; sister, Jennie Coppinger; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers. Stacy Smith and Tyler McCullough officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
