Collinsville, Alabama – Mrs. Betty Sue Atha, 76, passed away, March 2, 2018 at the Dekalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Alabama.  She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 20, 1941 to William Bryan Scott and Mary Daisy Howard Scott who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Ernest and Ralph Scott; sisters, Mary Louise White and Janie Phillips; son, Jimmy Dale Northcutt; step-son, Tony Atha; 1st husband, James Claudie Northcutt.

She was a long-time resident of Palmer before moving to Collinsville, Alabama due to her declining health.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Earl J. Atha, Collinsville, AL; son, David Lee (Kim) Northcutt, Palmer, TN; step-sons, Greg (Charla) Atha, Sevierville, TN and Mike (Tracy) Atha, Collinsville, AL; step-daughters, Lora Skipper and Laurie (Byron) Gregg, Collinsville, and Teresa Harrison, Cameron, NC; brother, Vincent (Linda) Scott; sisters, Edna (Joe Ray) Layman and Christine (Willard) Perry; grandchildren, Felicia and Whitney Michelle, Katie and Jaron Dale; several step grandchildren; loving sister-in-law, Edith “Blondell” (Andy) Lockhart; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Riley Anderson officiating with burial to follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Warren County.  Visitation: 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
