Obituary of Charles Edward Long Sr.

Beersheba Springs – Mr. Charles Edward Long Sr., 75, passed away Tuesday March 20, 2018 at his home unexpectedly due to fire.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on October 18, 1942 to William Houston Long and Orphia Carlee Bouldin Long.  He familywas from the Pocket Community near Whitwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie Kay Grissom Long.

He is survived by his sons, Charles “Chuck” (Dee) Long, Spencer, Mark (Susan Blake) Long, Beersheba Springs and Jeremy (Carol) Long, Chattanooga; daughters, Regina K. Smartt and Crista (Joe Meekins) Long of McMinnville; sister, Carolyn Harding; grandchildren, Nick, Stephanie, Cody, Tiffany, Mason, Jade, Wesley, Kayleigh, Kirsty and Lillith; step-grandchildren, Tyler, Sean, Steffen and Tyrus; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Maverick, Lea, Luci, Riley, Ava and Kloee.

Memorial funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with visitation: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
