Grandpa James Brown lived a full life.He was taken from us earlier than we would have liked. He was raised on country values of honesty, pride, working hard, and treating people with respect. He always talked to me about life and the risk and rewards that came with it. James was very passionate about our freedoms and rights. He told me he was NRA life member all of his adult life and was proud to support the 2nd amendment. He was an engineer in the military. His main job was to help design and build temporary bridges across large rivers to transport machines, men, and supplies. James was quiet to a-lot of folks but if you got to really know him he had a lot to say. He had a great sense of humor and was very witty. Grandpa loved his Nellie with all his heart. He took good care of her while she was sick but struggled when she passed. Grandpa James represented whats good in men. He had good qualities only men today dream about. It was an honor to have him as my Grandfather. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. Love Barb and Eric Graves.

When I would be out picking up cans, Mr. Brown would drive by, toot his horn, and I would wave. I would always leave a Christmas card for him at the G-L Senior Citizens Center.
He was active in the community and will be greatly missed.

He will be remembered for his get up and go and never give up , attitude. They called him the sliver fox at the senior citizens hall. He knew every road on Palmer Mountain and scared us half to death going around those mountain roads. Always in my memory.

Uncle James was our role model after we lost our father, he and aunt Nellie were always there for us 3 kids and our mom whenever we needed anything growing up. My sister and I visited them twice a year since they moved back to Tennessee from Michigan in 1985. We called it out mountain retreat. He will be greatly missed, it's hard to believe he's gone. What a good-hearted, loving man he was. I know it was a day of rejoicing for him up there when he passed.
