Uncle Thomas was always one of my favorites! I have great memories of playing outside at Granny Fanny's house when I was a child, and he was always out there with us, making us laugh and having a good ole time! I'm so sorry to Aunt Mary, Brenda, Wayne and the rest of the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and so sorry we couldn't be there. I first met Mr. Rollins and Ray Winton in October of 2016 at the Fannie Moffitt Celebration in Altamont. I was there with, then candidate for state representative, Paul Sherrell. After Mr. Sherrell was elected, we all became close friends and have remained so. Mr. Rollins and his wife, Mary, are good examples of those who grew up in the Great Depression and World War II. After returning from the war, he and Mary raised and college educated their children, kept their faith in God and were upright citizens of their community. Although we are saddened by Mr. Rollins' passing, we can rejoice in a life well lived. David Patton Palmer Town Historian

Uncle Thomas was my mother’s younger brother. I have many many wonderful memories of him not the least of which was being there to celebrate his 97th birthday with a huge party at a cabin in Beersheba with many friends and family. My older brother and his son, and then his son’s son was named after uncle Thomas. And he happened to die on my nephews birthday, and he considered it an honor. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. A very humble person but also very knowledgeable on so many things. He will certainly be missed by so many. Rest in peace sweet man! Love you forever.
