PALMER - Agnes A. James, 99, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011. She was born on December 28, 1911 to Jack and Mary Levisa Cagle Banks who preceded her in death along with her husband, Gordon James, sons, Clarence Allen, Tommy, Stanley and Alvin Lee James; daughter, Pollie Tucker; grandson, Travis James; great-granddaughter, Autumn Faith James; sisters, Dolly Ivey, Martha Walker, Rosa Thompson, Nellie Alton; brother, Robbie Banks. She is survived by her son, Marshall Floyd James; daughters, Hallie Knight and Margaret Ward; sister, Lela Tate; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brett Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
