Obituary of Marcus Hayes Hill

 Beersheba Springs – Mr. Marcus Hayes Hill Jr., "Sonny Boy", age 90, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the NHC Nursing Home in McMinnville, Tennessee. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on May 15, 1928 to Marcus Hayes Hill Sr. and Robbye Etta Hobbs Hill who preceded him in death along with his brother, Joe C. Hill; sisters, Clara Louise Bjerke, Anita Grace Thomas, Sadie Bernice Russell, Mary Elizabeth VanHorn, Bennie Frances Stewart and Ruby Allison Willie; wife, Verise Virginia Smith Hill.

He was retired from the US Navy after 25 years of service and was employed by Orkin Exterminators for 23 years. He attended the Cumberland Baptist Church. He was a member of the Grundy County Rotary Club.

He is survived by his, sister, Barbara Ann Bloodworth, Beersheba Springs; brother, Ronald (Sue) Hill of Smithville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Alton Scruggs and his nephew Jeff Hill officiating and Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard with burial to follow in the Hunerwadel Cemetery.
